I had the opportunity to work with an ambitious team dedicated to scaling their business and venturing into new industries by gaining access to equity financing. I worked cohesively with the Client and its third-party auditors and attorneys to solve unique and unforeseen challenges to complete a business combination via reverse takeover and become publicly traded on the Canadian Securities Exchange.

To complete the transaction, we produced the company’s first set of audited annual financial statements and subsequent interim filings. In addition, I worked with the client to design, build and implement a completely new budgeting and forecasting process. This process allows them to provide forward-looking guidance during earning release calls, create better financial models to share with potential investors and creditors and evaluate new prospective business deals.

Collaborating and overcoming daily obstacles to achieve the company’s ultimate goals was deeply satisfying and enriching.

About Justin

Justin is a CPA with more than 15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience within a wide range of dynamic roles in the media and entertainment industry. Prior to joining 8020, Justin was instrumental in establishing a global shared financial service department at Warner Bros., where he developed world-class teams and engineered highly effective accounting processes to drive efficiencies at scale. Additionally, he’s held leadership roles managing multiple technology budgets and has directed business realignments for several entities. His expertise includes FP&A, financial accounting & reporting, financial modeling, business integrations, change management and business process optimization. Justin earned his MBA with a specialization in Global Management from UCLA Anderson School of Management and earned his B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
